for vacationers, so to help you choose your winter getaway, we've
compiled the most noteworthy openings and renovations throughout the
region. Then, to help take the high price out of high season, we've
added the hottest packages for romantics, families, spa-lovers and
sportos, covering both new resorts and old favorites. Now all you have
to do is pick and pack.

HIGH SEASON'S HOTTEST DEALSBy Emily Kruckemyer and Danielle Kosecki
It's
certainly not called "high season" because of the temperature. When
things chill down and gray up in northern climes, the short days and
frigid slush turns everyone's thoughts toward escaping to the
Caribbean's warm sand and hot sun. It's simply the law of supply and
demand that decrees the "high" in high season means prices, sometimes
at sticker-shock level. But have no fear: We've combed the region to
find you the best deals available this winter, and several resorts have
even come up with specials exclusively for CT&L readers. So whether
you're looking for a romantic, indulgent, active or family vacation,
these packages will get you to the beach this high season while saving
you beaucoups bucks.
