Maca Bana is a subtle cocktail of private villa living and boutique hotel charm; an inspiring holiday experience on one of the most beautiful, friendly islands of the Caribbean: Grenada with its sensual spice history, unspoilt interior and white sand beaches.
All 7 luxurious villas have fully equipped kitchens and private massaging hot tubs overlooking the white-sand perfection of magazine beach. Set amidst tropical gardens of babbling streams and ponds, it is perched right above the cosmopolitan Aquarium Restaurant, an island favourite from the same owners (Uli Kühn & Rebecca Thompson).
Nature takes centre stage inside and out, with each villa individually themed from the fruit trees which hang their fruit seductively over the wooden verandas. Striving to set the pace for truly "green" tourism in the Caribbean, the villa roofs are bedecked with 111 solar panels which soak up and utilise the abundant sunshine as the guests lie by the infinity-pool and do the same. The banas were built with locally sourced materials and were designed and decorated by artist Rebecca Thompson who offers private art classes and field trips into the rainforest or to deserted beaches.

The spa experience is indulged in on the wind-kissed balcony, where one can also free the body and spirit in a one-on-one yoga session. To perfect the pampering, a chef can be summoned to the villa to prepare mouth-watering meals, which are served overlooking the sea, picturesque St. George's and the verdant hills in the distance. The local chefs from The Aquarium love to provide private cookery lessons to share some of their well-kept and often spicy, culinary secrets. The ingredients can be hand-picked by the guests at the owner's fifteen acre piece of rainforest where organic vegetables and herbs are raised beneath the shade of nutmeg and cocoa trees.
This resort is a honeymooner's paradise and the ultimate romantic setting for divinely decadent or simply barefoot beach weddings... where better to begin the journey of the rest of your lives.
