Heavily African-influenced vijigante masks are worn by "devilish" participants in Loiza's "Fiestas de Santiago Apostol" (The Feast of St. James), a Puerto Rican party that exuberantly dances between the sacred and the profane for a week in July. We found this mask in Old San Juan for $38.
