St. Martin

St. Martin's esteemed La Samanna becomes even more capacious with the addition of eight new villas, the first of which opened in December 2008. The 4,600-square-foot accommodations have three or four bedrooms, wraparound terraces, private pools and private beach cabanas. Last June, comfortable Oyster Bay Beach Resort, adjacent to the Dutch side's Dawn Beach, added 40 new rooms and the Indulgence by the Sea spa. Housed in a new four-story pavilion, the efficiencies and one- and two-bedroom units feature granite kitchens. The new spa has four massage and treatment rooms, as well as a couples massage room. Last July, the year-old Radisson St. Martin Resort, Marina & Spa opened le Spa, a full-service sanctuary and fitness center that features a menu of body and facial services, as well as a poolside treatment cabana. 590-590-876-701; lespabyradisson.com Porto Cupecoy marina village opened last summer at Simpson Bay Lagoon with 54 slips priced from $100,000. The village also features restaurants, art galleries, tennis courts and a pool. Turks and Caicos

South Beach style meets Grace Bay sands on Providenciales, where the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos opened last March. The stylish resort has 91 rooms (including 32 suites and four penthouses) featuring dark wood, platform beds, and bathrooms with rain showers and spa tubs. The dining scene at the 120-room Seven Stars Resort, which opened on Grace Bay Beach last year, is about to get even more impressive, with additions including the casual oceanfront Beach Bar and the Terrace Grille, which opened in September and a fine-dining restaurant set to open later this year. Scheduled for a spring 2010 opening, the 168-room condo-hotel Veranda Resort & Residences occupies 800 feet of prime Grace Bay beachfront property. The hotel, inspired by British-Caribbean architecture, will feature eight private seaside villas with pools, as well as a total of 123 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Rounding out the offerings will be an Asian-theme spa, an infinity pool and a beachfront restaurant. Add a studio to your real estate portfolio for $290,000; $3.5 million snags a private villa.
