Where is Puerto Rico?

Here's how to find one of the most popular Caribbean vacation destinations, just a quick direct flight from the U.S. and no need for a passport.

See more about Puerto Rico in the new CT+L Puerto Rico Vacation Guide.

We editors of Caribbean Travel + Life love Puerto Rico. We've been to it probably more than any other Caribbean island, often because San Juan is an airline hub to fly to the other Caribbean destinations. But also because Old San Juan, so close to the airport, is one of the best places to take a walking tour and see the history of this island. Farther afield, El Yunque rainforest is a must do, as are the beautiful resorts out on the shores. And when you're really feeling adventurous, head out to the other islands of Puerto Rico, namely Vieques and Culebra. CT+L superstar photographer Zach Stovall once did an entire beach photo essay on Vieques alone.

So where is Puerto Rico? See it on this interactive Google map. Zoom in to get just the right perspective or zoom out to see where Puerto Rico is in relation to its neighbors, the Dominican Republic and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. We'll also be adding more pin marks all the time to this Caribbean map, highlighting the "Best of the Caribbean" all-inclusives, resorts, restaurants, beaches and more, as recommended by CT+L editors and readers. Where is Puerto Rico? Right here, waiting for you to take your next great vacation there.
