The Bahamas' New Brew

On a recent trip to the Exumas I discovered a new (to me, anyway) beer on the Bahamian block. Manufactured on the island of Freeport with spring water from Grand Bahama, Sands (which launched in 2008 and was followed by Sands Light last year) proudly claims on the can to be “Truly Bahamian Beer.” It’s a dig, presumably, at the 25-year-old Bahamian beer brand Kalik, which is owned by the local brewers of Guinness and Heineken.
So which lager really offers the true taste of the Bahamas? Truth is, both of them taste pretty good to us. So we recommend you kick back with a six-pack of each and judge for yourself. Then tell us if you’d rather sip a Sands or if it’s Kalik that you crave.

I had a few of these while visiting Our Lucaya last month... Very tasty and better than Kalik, IMO... I tried their other brands too -- Strong Back (a stout) and High Rock (a step up from Sands)... Liked 'em so much I went and toured their brewery... We'll have the full story on Uncommon Caribbean soon...

Can this be found in the states? I live FL and would give it a swallow! I guess I could just go explore some islands and explore this beer. Thanks for the info!
Cheers!
