Discovering the Romantic Side of St. Lucia
This week I’m in “simply beautiful” St. Lucia, filming an episode of our TV show, Affordable Caribbean (look out for it to air on Discovery HD and the SunSports network in December; check your local listings.) Despite three days of torrential rain, the island is as enchanting as ever and still in my Caribbean Top 10. It’s palpably romantic and a HUGE honeymoon destination – the 10 of us on the crew are definitely the odd ones out here. There’s so much to do: hiking the tropical rainforest; bathing in waterfalls; scaling the island’s famous twin peaks, the Pitons; touring centuries-old plantations; lazing on secluded beaches … the list goes on.
So far we’ve spent our time along the southwest coast, checking out honeymoon roosts such as Anse Chastanet and the charming and unique working plantation/cottage resort Fond Doux; taking in the sights at Diamond Botanical Gardens; and ooh-ing and ahh-ing at our constant companions, the Pitons. We’re heading north later and plan to check out the jump-up (and the yummy fried fish) at Gros Islet, the restaurants at Rodney Bay Village, and the sands of the island’s largest beach at Reduit. I know we’ve got a lot of St. Lucia-loving CT+L readers out there, so tell me: where else should we go, what should we see and who should we say hello to for you in St. Lucia?

Hi Sarah - great
Hi Sarah - great article.
There are some local places up in Gros Islet you should check - from the gas station on the Gros Islet highway go on the road up to the cricket club and about 1mile past the ground visit Gloria's bar. Lovely lady and local - there are others on the way there aswell.
For more luxury take a look at this villa www.stlucia.cc This is the most modern contemporary villa on the island and you can miss it on Cap Estate.
