Cruise Watch: Favorite 6 New Cruises
Here are five cruises we're really excited about.
1. The Celebrity Reflection is that cruise line's new ship that is departing Miami on seven-night sailings to ports like Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Belly up to the ice-topped Martini Bar. Rates from $699.
2. The Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream were previously home-ported at Cape Canaveral, but they’ll begin departures from Miami, offering seven-night and shorter itineraries, respectively. Rates from $450.
3. The MSC Divina will sail out of Miami (check out the Sophia Loren-themed suite).
4. Princess Cruises debuts Royal Princess, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Galveston, Texas, in 2013-14.
5. Oceania Cruises’ new vessel, Riviera, sails 10- to 14-day Caribbean jaunts from Miami. Epicureans can savor the fare at six restaurants and, while in port, join tours that explore the islands’ cuisine. Rates from $1,850.
6. Paul Gauguin Cruises also sets sail now on the line’s first Caribbean routes aboard the Tere Moana. Cruises out of St. Martin call at Jost Van Dyke, BVI; Basse- terre, St. Kitts; and Guadeloupe’s idyllic isles, Les Saintes. Rates from $2,595.

The new Carnival Breeze spent the summer in the Mediterranean. But the ship is coming to Miami, and its designers have left no doubt about its new destination. Cabins are “Caribbean-ized,” with sun-washed hues and doors with plantation shutters; hammocks, palm trees and “beach” umbrellas embellish the adult-only oasis, the Serenity retreat (welcome respite from the kid-magnet water park); and even the stairwells are adorned with tropical imagery. As part of the CT+L Ultimate Cruise Guide, see the photo gallery we just posted for a photo tour of the Carnival Breeze. Onboard eats are also ...
So, what’s the best cruise ship stateroom? Simple: The most expensive one. Don’t believe me? Check out our gallery of the 12 best cruise ship staterooms and see how the other half sails. Now, I’d happily stay in any of these, but the room that really has me intrigued is Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class AquaTheater Suite: two bedrooms, a living area, a balcony that’s almost as large as the room itself and prime seats for shows at the AquaTheater. Book me. Then again ...
