Fishy Business at Monkey Point

Fishy Business at Monkey Point

Guana is a small Caribbean island only accessible by boat. It has a rocky perimeter and quiet cay making it a popular mooring and snorkel spot. Its here that we anchored our catamaran and hopped in the dinghy, motoring close to the beach.

As we dove beneath the surface we were greeted by thousands and thousands of shiny minnows, acting as if they were a moving blanket across the reef. A short distance away three huge tarpon patiently waited for their supper. The underwater terrain looked as though someone gently scattered enormous boulders just far enough away from each other to allow safe passage to the next reef. Blue Tangs, Trumpet Fish, Sergeant Majors, Parrot Fish and other forms of marine life became our greatest pleasure for the day.

Do I really need to come home :(
