I’ve been around – when it comes to beaches, that is. In two years at CT+L I’ve surveyed my fair share of sands, from the brown-sugar grains of St. Lucia’s Anse Chastanet to the powdery stretch at Les Salines in St. Barts and Grenada’s tranquil Pink Gin beach.
While I haven’t yet realized my dream of visiting the Bahamian Out Islands (yes, I’m looking at you, Reagan), I am busy finalizing plans for another equally exciting trip: an eight-day jaunt to Jamaica, kicking off this weekend.
For a bona fide beach-a-holic like myself, time spent away from the sand on a Caribbean vacation is merely an interlude until my next sandy sojourn. But on my recent trip to St. Kitts I got a chance to check out Brimstone Hill, which it just happens to be one of the forts we covered in our August + September issue ("Towers of Power"). And it was well worth the trip, if only for the sweeping views of nearby Nevis and Statia.
