Still Mighty: Trinidad's Calypso King Still Reigns

If you’re into old-school Calypso you’ll no doubt be familiar with the music of the legendary Trinidad-born, Grenada-bred calypsonian, The Mighty Sparrow. Born Slinger Francisco, the calypso king has thrilled audiences all over the world for more than 40 years with his topical, humorous and sometimes saucy tunes.

Sparrow fans will also be happy to know that the rumors that started earlier this week that the 75-year-old had passed away are absolutely false. Although not in the best of health, Mr. Francisco is indeed alive, and news reports coming out of Trinidad say that his medical team is still working hard to find a diagnosis for his illness.
