Summer Travel Tips to Bonaire

Summer Travel Tips to Bonaire

July 14th, 2011

Why do you like Bonaire in the summer?

“It’s out of the hurricane belt. And unlike other parts of the Caribbean that have high and low season, we don’t. Every week on my blog I feature last-minute deals and a lot of people have jumped on that bandwagon. Typically the deals are with one to six weeks notice.”

Still, it gets a bit quieter in Bonaire this time of year?

“Yes, you don’t have crowds since the cruise ships are gone. I live in Cape Cod, and in the summer there’s traffic getting to the beach, paying for parking. You don’t have that once you’re on Bonaire. It’s hotter up here than it is in Bonaire in the summer thanks to the tradewinds. ”

For family vacations, how much is there to do in Bonaire?

“It’s a family friendly destination. We have caving, snorkeling, kayaking and kids doing diving classes. Across the island, it’s casual dress, kids are welcome, restaurants are on the water so kids have a lot of entertainment while you’re eating. It’s a really nurturing feel.”
