All-Inclusive LaSource: A Taste of the Amazing Holiday
Note: LaSource announced it was closing in October 2012.
Ok, let's just get this out of the way: Spa treatments don't suck. Maybe you're not a huge spa person in general – maybe you tend to prefer sightseeing on your vacations, or playing golf, or watching Ellen in your pjs in the hotel room (we're not here to judge). But however you generally fill your vacation time, I think we can all agree that being pampered and fussed over with a full-body deep tissue massage, or a relaxing hot stone massage, or any number of other indulgent treatments, is not the worst way to pass the time once in a while.
I tend to be even more on the enthusiastic side when it comes to spas, seeking out any opportunity to duck in for a quick treatment whenever I travel. (All in the name of research, of course.) So you can imagine how excited I was for this week's assignment: Four nights of pampering at the "luxury-inclusive" LaSource resort, a quiet mind-body-soul retreat nestled along Grenada's Pink Gin Beach, where spa treatments are included daily in the rate. Yes, you get a spa treatment per day, completely gratis.
I'm staying at the property this week to attend the special Yoga Masters Class, so stay tuned to the blog for more information on that retreat (and how you can book a stay just like it) – but in the mean time, check out our featured spa review of the Oasis spa, then take a peek at the treatment menu below to get you in the spirit of rejuvination...
From the LaSource web site, theamazingholiday.com:
SILK AND SMOOTH SCRUB
A gentle exfoliation of the body, using silky skin body scrub followed by a gentle moisturizing massage using lomi-lomi strokes replenishes and tones your skin. This deep pore cleansing top-to-toe treatment removes aged and flaky skin cells, leaving the skin feeling smooth as silk. This treatment prepares you for the sun and promotes a longer lasting tan.
FLOAT ON AIR
A special foot massage from the knees to the toes followed by a relaxing hand massage to stimulate the general reflex areas and sensory nerve endings of the hands and feet. It is decongesting and relaxing to the body’s systems and nerve pathways. A good revival after a long flight.
FULL BODY SWEDISH MASSAGE
With increasing physical and emotional pressures of modern living, making relentless demands on the body, massage has the potential to reduce strain, and alleviate pain. The benefits of Swedish massage are extensive. It helps break down adhesions and lactic acid, improves the circulation of the blood and lymph and soothes tired or aching muscles.
POINT SALINES WRAP
A detoxifying and diuretic full body wrap that blends seaweed with aromatherapy essential oils to offer a mini-detox treatment. Incorporating Dry Body Brushing, this is also an ideal maintenance treatment when part of a weight loss programme. This treatment also mineralizes and moisturizes, leaving your skin feeling renewed and hydrated.
Yep, all included in your stay. Say it with me now: Ahhhh.
