Caribbean Beach Bars Verses Natural Island Beauty

Our last two days have been spent exploring two completely different Caribbean island experiences: the vibrant beach bar scene of Cane Garden Bay in Tortola and the quiet serenity of Diamond Cay on Jost Van Dyke.  Both offering a playful time and showcasing what this group of British Caribbean islands are best known for.

Cane Garden Bay is a calm cove with over five Caribbean beach bars lining the water's edge. Here you will find the famous Stanley restaurant where Jimmy Buffet wrote the song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” serving, you guessed it, delicious cheeseburgers and fries. Live music can be heard nightly in all the establishments along with a generous selection of creative tropical drinks.

Diamond Cay is the extreme opposite, with bright turquoise waters home to hawksbill sea turtles, stingrays, and loads of tropical fish, making this spot an amazing place to snorkel in the Caribbean.  A quick dinghy jaunt takes you to Sandy Spit, one of the smallest islands in this Caribbean island chain.  Taking only minutes to walk around, this little slice of heaven has 2 palm trees and the softest sand imaginable.

Ahhhh. I am not coming home! Julie
