You don't have to be a multimillionaire setting up shop on your own private island to move to the Caribbean. This interview from Islands Magazine features Suzanne Gordon, who moved to the tiny Caribbean island of Nevis with no job prospects and worked a variety of jobs - from authoring a book on architecture to bartending and housesitting - until finally establishing a real-estate career and a foothold on the island. Now, she resides in a cottage with views of Nevis Peak and sister island St. Kitts and enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle:
“I can roll a rock down the hill and it will splash in the sea,” says Suzanne, chopping vegetables for dinner in her homemade kitchen. Outside is Tamarind Bay, near Oualie Beach and along the northwest coast of Nevis.
